Hello Scouters,
I'd like to offer the Emergency Preparedness Merit Badge over this summer to those who do not currently have. This is an Eagle Scout badge and will require some effort on your part, but I promise you will thank yourself when completed. For those interested, please reply to this email or call me in the evenings. The tentative schedule is below: Day 1 -Monday June 20 - 7 - 8.30 PM. You will need to have your Merit Badge booklet at this session Day 2 - Sunday July 17 - 2 PM until meeting. For this meeting we'll have a field trip to an emergency operations center. There are a few option to be set up by myself and Mr. Tangog. Day 3 - Date to be determined The Scouts will plan an exercise Day 4 - An exercise will happen, which will be planned by the scouts participating in the MB. I wanted to let everyone know that the next PLC meeting will take place on Wednesday (June 8) at 7:00 PM. It will take place at the usual spot at Joy Lutheran Church. Please let me know if you will not be able to attend and if you cannot please contact your assistant. From Perry Scouts & Parents,
For all scouts & parents who will be joining us for the NRA Youth Shoot < We will meet at Joy Lutheran Church Sat 4 June @ 7:15 AM to rendezvous to Birchwood Shooting Park in Chugiak. This is an all day event & should be concluded NLT 4:30/5:00 PM. Please wear Class "B" uniform & dress for the weather. I would bring a light rain jacket & water bottle in a small day pack or fanny pack. You can bring your own shooting glasses & ear muffs, but they will also provide them for you. Shooters will be required to wear a ball cap...they provide. WE WILL SIGN IN TOGETHER when we arrive. This ensures all Troop 219 stays together. 8-11 yr old boys will go in one group & 12-18 to old boys go in the other direction....(depending on how u signed up) Lunch is free & the half time show is great. Please bring your ticket number if you have it available. For more info, go to agca.net. Parents are responsible for transportation or help with car pooling at JLC. Parent helpers-chaperones will also be welcomed for the day. I suspect we'll have approx 15 scouts. If you are going straight to Birchwood & not JLC, please let me know. If you didn't previously sign up, you can show up and see if they can get you in on the stand-by list....you'll have to wait until everyone is signed in, but you never know. Notes Scout Meeting Sunday starts at 6:30 PM. If you have troop gear from the Spring Camporee; bring it Sunday We are getting ready for our Court of Honor - COH - on Sunday 12 Jun. Some BOR's will be conducted this Sunday 5 Jun at 6 pm. The rest will be next week some time before the COH. Please review the list of scouts below and let me know if any other scouts are ready for SM Con & a BOR. If I haven't contacted you for a SM con, rest assured I will in the next day or so. So please let me know if there are others that are ready for their next rank advancement. Additionally. I will have a sign up sheet at Sunday's meeting to list all the merit badges you have coming for this COH. Everything you have earned since the X-mas COH. P. S.
