While our primary river adventure was derailed by a dab of flooding, we adapted and overcame.  South Rolly Lake provided some canoeing adventure, fishing, outdoor skill training, cooking, camping, and enough adventure to entertain the most experienced scouts.  How can you not love wild berry pancakes, grilled pike, and Mr. Duft's famous Sweet Heat Grilled Peaches and Cream!!  Many learned that 25.5 matches and lots of toilet paper may not be enough to get a fire going in damp Alaska.  SPECIAL thanks to Mr Eliassen for "almost literally" (not really) BUT definitely figuratively giving his life to the goal of training and confidence building.  Who knew it was that hard to cast a rescue float to someone a mere 25 feet away!!
