If you have any new agenda items please forward them to me by responding to this email NLT than 7 September. Have a safe and happy Labor Day Weekend. ***Please note that I will be turning in Merit Badge certification paperwork to the Council, following the committee meeting. I have several amazing parent volunteers who filled out the Troop Resource survey and indicated they want to be merit badge counselors. I will send an individual email to those concerned. However, I encourage you to attend the committee meeting or at a minimum arrange to fill out and drop your paperwork during the meeting time Tuesday, 8 Sep 2015. Merit Badge Counselors must complete Youth Protection Training, file an Adult Application use the code 42 (and Merit Badge Counselor Information Form); and be approved by the local council. (See the Guide for Merit Badge Counselors for additional details.) I have lots of information and I don't want anyone to shy away from this endeavor based on not knowing what to do. I am not a current merit badge counselor but in my effort to recruit parents I have done extensive research and recommend this website. Please call me I would be more than happy to cut through all of the reading and give you the down and dirty. We can get through all of this together. Our goal is to improve and provide a variety of learning opportunities for our scouts. Thank you so much. I"m looking forward to serving as your new Troop 219 Committee Chair. Hi Troop 219,
I am having a second work session for my Eagle Scout project tonight from 6:30 to 8:30 PM. I am building a community garden at the United Methodist Church of Chugiak. we will be cutting brush to make space. We will be working by the lower parking lot – follow the driveway around to the back of the church. Snacks and drinks will be provided. Please bring a pick axe if you have one. Work gloves are also good. Thanks, Sam Hall Hello Troop,
During the May 20 Meeting we decided to reconvene the committee meetings after June was over, due to all the activities. Our next meeting is scheduled for July 14 (next tuesday) at 7:30 PM at the JLC. If you're new to the troop and would like an overview of what we do each month, the committee invites you to attend. Please contact me if you would like to add anything to the meeting. To reach me directly click on my name below to send an email, or call/text 907-205-0705. Happy Trails, Jeff Estes |
