Scouts & Parents,
I want to thank all of our parents for staying overnight, keeping the black book during the day, and chilling at camp with the scouts. We are very lucky to have such generous parents and be able to support two major activities simultaneously: Summer Camp and Chilkoot Hike. The troop will have a Big Potluck Friday 30 Jun for the entire troop & families...this is an annual T219 Tradition!!! Start bringing food approx. 4:30 pm to Tazlina Campsite. Each family should bring main dishes, and couple sides and deserts...we have 22 boys to feed, I suspect with family members & others, there will be at least 75 present. Also please bring drinks for your Scout and family...don't forget to bring a camp chair to rest your bones. After dinner there will be awards and final campfire program at 8:00 pm for the boys and families. The boys will finish camp and break camp Saturday morning around 10 AM. Please do not take your Scout home on Friday night. Remember, we need main courses, sides, a few salads, great deserts, etc... more is better. Same as our Court of Honor (CoH) feeds !!! We have a lot of people to feed & it's a celebration > beginning of the 4th of July Weekend. Bring the family, camp chairs, and your own drinks. We will eat at 5:00pm regardless of the ever-changing camp schedule. After dinner the scouts will do flags, Camp Challenges , and finally Friday night campfire program...you don't want to miss it. Our boys are quitting merit badges at 4:30 PM. From 6-7 pm our boys can pack up most of their gear and get it to parents car...just keep what they need for the night & the next day...not much. Scouts will be released Saturday morning TOGETHER after camp is clean & packed out. Lou Rivera-Murray Troop 219 Committee Chair 748-4350 Scouts and Parents
