If we have a few adults interested in carpooling I will be in the Joy Lutheran parking lot at 11:30. I have room for 3 scouts. We should be back to Joy Lutheran approximately 2:30.

Sunday 29 May service project at Ft Richardson National Cemetery. Bring the whole family... Scouts should be in Class "A" Uniform. We will be putting out 5000+ flags on the grave sites. For those driving directly to Ft Rich cemetery be there at 11:45 am...get directions at the gate. Those driving and needing a pass to get on base please get there 11:30 am...there could be a line at the gate. Please have your drivers license, registration, & proof of insurance available to he a pass. All adults, family members, and scouts over age 16 need a picture id to get on base. Any others needing a ride or carpooling meet Lou Rivera at Joy Lutheran church at 11:15 am to arrange transportation to Ft Richardson - JBER. - NO SCOUT MEETING ON SUNDAY...... Happy Memorial Day !!! For those scouts who attended today's event you will be credited 2 hours and please note this on your scout logs If any scouts would like to attend the Memorial day Ceremony please be at the cemetary before the event begins promptly at 11:30 am. Finally in regards to Memorial day Service hours there is one more opportunity for scouts to earn more hours on Tuesday the 26th from 9-noon picking up the flags that were placed today. All you need to do is show up between these hours and report to the log bldg for instruction. Wed 27 May - We will be conducting the spring road clean up down Eagle River Loop through VFW/Scouts will meet at Joy Lutheran, Time ~ 6:30 (TBD). Troop 219 sponsors this clean up and you should see the newly posted sign along the road. Sat 6 Jun- NRA Shootout (those scouts attending have already registered) Please keep in mind if your scout is attending camp the BSA physical is due to Mrs. Brandi Estes NLT 7 Jun. National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) has been postponed. Our new dates will be August 8th -14th, 2015 at Camp Carlquist (Must be 1st Class or above in rank). For any questions, please contact Danyelle Johnson. Just announced at the May 20 Committee meeting is the date for the "Spring" Court of Honor. Sun 7 Jun at Joy Lutheran Church, approximate time 6:00 pm-8:30 pm. If there are any scouts who are close to advancement please call Steve Puterbaugh to schedule a scoutmaster conference as soon as possible. He can be reached at 907.351.8826. We will need volunteers for this function and more details will follow. For those Scouts attending Lost Lake summer camp we have secured transportation and will be riding in style with Troop 230 leaving on 5 July and returning 12 July. We had over 28 scouts complete basic swimming requirements for different ranks. Thanks to all ASM's and parents who were able to participate and or drive. Don't forget scouts to bring your books with you to functions and meetings to ensure you receive timely sign off of requirements. For those of you working on physical fitness and skiing merit badges please turn in your information to Mr. Lungren as soon as you have your information filled out on the worksheet. 1. No meeting this coming Sunday 24 May. 2. Memorial Day Weekend Service Hour Opportunities for Scouts who will be staying local When: 24 May 2015, Report no earlier than 11:45, Sunday, to the building before the parking area Where: Ft Richardson National Cemetery What: Place American flags at the tombs of our fallen soldiers and their families Uniform for this event is the Class A Uniform. ASMs who plan on attending please also wear your Class A Uniform. 3. If Scouts and families would like to attend Memorial Day Service at the Cemetery please be there NLT 11:30 when ceremonies begin, Monday, 25 May, 2015 4. Finally, if you are interested in picking up the flags this will occur from 9am-12noon on Tuesday 26 May 2015. 5.
